CHARLOTTE’S 2025 SEASON
This year, as some of you may know, I took a year out of education to race and enjoy riding my bike as much as possible! In January I bought a van with the plan to convert it into a race camper - I’ve had an incredibly fun year and I am very proud of my results! I wanted to share with you some highlights - and recommend some races for next season.
To start the year I headed up to Innerleithen for a gorgeous week of riding some of the UK's best trails in the spring sunshine. The trip ended up being a sort of bootcamp. It ended up being a great entry into the season!
With some great people by my side, I covered 250km and 8500m in just over a week! With lots of miles in my legs I raced in Wales, the Tweed Valley, Northern England and for the first time I made the journey to the Isle of Man! I was lucky enough to spend a few days on a beautiful island for the ManxMTB Enduro. A two day event, a tour of the technical terrain that the island has to offer. It was brutal at times but I think it was also my favourite race of the season. A combination of beautiful views, exploring a new place, gnarly trails, brilliant weather, camping, bikes and some of my favourite people - I hope to be able to attend again in 2026. I also learnt a lot from it and from this season overall, most importantly to always remember to have fun on your bike.
Another event I’d like to mention - I had the honour of riding at Vero Sandler and Sam Hodgson’s backyard battle! An incredible experience, to watch some of the worlds best and to ride alongside them in what might be the UK’s best backyard setup!
Next up I travelled to Machynlleth in Wales for the British National Enduro Champs. A scorcher of a weekend, big elevation, really fun trails, and some very very tight racing! I have raced Machynlleth a few times and it never disappoints!
After an incredible couple of weeks in the alps I headed to Josh Brycelands Bolly skyline Enduro. What a weekend. I think this event really captured how fun riding and racing bikes is. Some of the best trails I have ever ridden - short, steep, jumps, drops, rocks, tight corners - I will definitely be back next season and I’d recommend this venue to all!
As the season came to an end I headed to the Hope WMN Enduro down at FOD. It was brilliant to see so many women and girls having fun racing their bikes - big thank you to Claire and everyone at Hope for making this happen!
To finish the season, I battled with Chloe Taylor to get top spot at Peaty’s Steel City Downhill. Another really fun event with an incomparable atmosphere, a great way to finish my season!I am super proud to say I won the overall for the British national enduro series, and a huge thank you goes out to everyone who made this year possible! Keen for 26’!
